SUGGESTED SPECIFICATIONS

DUPLEX CONDENSATE PUMP SET

Furnish and install according to plans and manufacturers instructions scheduled condensate units type CRHCB2 manufactured by Flotronics Pump Corp. The unit shall consist of items as described below:

The unit shall be factory equipped with the following accessories:

The receiver shall be constructed of cast iron and shall be guaranteed against failure due to corrosion for 30 years from date of shipment. The guarantee shall be non-prorata and upon request the manufacturer shall provide the engineer with a list of installations with their receivers, that have been installed for this period of time to justify the guarantee.

The receiver shall have a gross storage of (See Schedule) Gals. and a net storage of (See Schedule) Gals.

Insulation shall be factory installed on the receiver and covered with a 16 gauge metal protective jacket. The insulation shall be block type, non setting, 1" thick with a .14K factor. Field insulation will not be acceptable.

The inlet strainer shall be wye type and shall be sized as shown on drawings.

The dial thermometer shall be stainless steel 3" diameter with bronze thermowell allowing removal without draining the receiver.

The gauge glass shall be factory installed on the receiver including glass, protective rods, and shut-off cocks.

The mechanical alternator shall alternate the two pumps and upon a rise in level, or peak demand, operate both pumps.

The high water standby float shall start the standby pump in the event of high water level in the recever and sound the alarm in the control cabinet. This float and switch shall be separate from the mechanical alternator and not integral with it. If for any reason the mechanical alternator float or switch fail, then this standby float will make the unit a True Duplex and start both pumps and sound the alarm.

The safety blow out plug shall be factory set to relieve at 3 PSIG and be equipped with a protective relief cage. The plug shall be conical and of the design that will not allow it to be piped to or plugged.

The lifting eye bolts shall be factory installed and be of sufficient size to handle the weight of the unit when rigged into place.

The suction isolation valves shall be of all bronze and allow the entire pump and motor to be removed without draining the receiver.

The pump discharge pressure gauges shall be 3-1/2" dial type with needle valve petcocks.

The Pumps: There shall be two (2) pumps which are of the 2 stage 2' NPSH design. The first stage to be bronze axial flow type and the second stage shall be fully enclosed centrifugal of bronze or stainless steel. These pumps shall require a maximum of 2' NPSH at 212 Deg. F. at atmospheric pressure at ALL points on the pump curve. The pumps shall operate stop/start and each shall be capable of delivering (see schedule) GPM at (see schedule) PSIG, HP, Phase, Volt, 60Hz. 3500 RPM. The pumps shall be factory installed on the unit and be of the centrifugal design. The motors to be [ ] ODP,[ ]TEFC design with stainless steel shaft.

The mechanical seals shall be high temperature rated for 250 Deg. F. Continuous service.

A NEMA 12 Motor Control Cabinet shall be factory mounted & wired on the unit, requiring only one (1) field power connection containing the following:

Wiring to motors, floats, controls & starters shall be run in liqui-tight conduit in accordance with the N.E.C.

The unit shall be completely tested at the factory before shipment. Final as wired diagrams shall be supplied to the contractor at time of shipment.
