Typical Specification:
Gilflo Steam Metering System
__________________________________________________________________________________________
Furnish and install a steam flow measuring device capable of accurately transducing a media flow into a differential pressure that is directly proportional to the media flow rate.
This shall be accomplished by providing a primary sensing device with an annular flow passage whose area increases by increasing flow rate by axial motion of a contoured plug relative to a fixed orifice.
The primary steam flow device shall produce a differential linear response of better than 50:1 with an accuracy of (+,-) 1% full scale and a repeatability of 0.25%.
The flow meter shall be factory calibrated and furnished with test data verifying the GPM flow of test water per inch of water column differential.
The steam flow device materials shall be compatible with the maximum steam pressure and temperature.
Maximum pressure loss through the flow device shall not exceed 5 PSIG at maximum flow or differential condition. Pressure recovery to be forty percent (40%) of maximum differential as calibrated.
The flow device shall be [] Flanged [] Wafer Style and installed between two (2) companion flanges as the device and service dictate. There shall be a minimum of six (6) pipe diameters of straight unobstructed pipe upstream and three (3) pipe diameters of straight unobstructed pipe downstream, of the same pipe size as that of the meter.
A smart differential pressure transmitter shall be provided and installed. The transmitter shall be guaranteed by the manufacturer against drift for five (5) years. It shall be furnished with three (3) valve manifold and pipe/wall mounting bracket.
For density compensation a temperature transmitter shall be provided and installed (as required). The transmitter shall be furnished with 316 SST Thermowell and installed upstream of the primary sensing device.
A smart pressure transmitter shall be provided and installed. The transmitter shall be guaranteed by the manufacturer against drift for five (5) years. It shall be furnished with pipe/wall mounting bracket.
Furnish & install a stand alone [] wall mount [] panel mount NEMA 4 electronic Cybertor flow computer unit to accept the d/P flow transmitter, temperature and/or pressure transmitter signals as necessary. Flow computer to include 24 VDC power supply for all required transmitters. The computer shall be programmed to calculate mass flow from three (3) inputs of 4-20 mA and produce a corrected 4-20 ma output equal to rate of flow. Totalized mass flow output to be 1FormC wetted relay.
The flow computer shall indicate rate of flow, totalized flow, date, time, diagnostics etc. There shall be a secondary internal totalizer and the unit shall be powered by 120 VAC.
The assembled flow metering system shall be accurate form 100% to 5% of meter rating to better than (+,-) 1% of reading and accurate from 5% flow to 1% flow to better than (+,-) 5% of reading. All power wiring shall be per manufacturers recommendations.
Steam flow measuring system shall be a Gilflo flow metering system as assembled by Martin Engineering Company or approved equal.
