Furnish & install, as shown on plans, safety relief valve. Safety relief valves shall have set pressures, capacities and other characteristics as scheduled on drawings. When used in conjunction with pressure reducing valves, capacity of safety valve shall not be less than maximum capacity of pressure reducing valve station.
Safety relief valves shall conform to ASME Boiler and Pressure Vessel Code, Section VIII and selected on ten percent (10%) accumulation basis (Unfired pressure vessel). Section IV ASME Code Low Pressure Boiler Safety valves shall NOT be acceptable. Valves shall be equipped with external lifting lever.
Valve Body to Be Rated 250 PSI SWP in Cast Iron or Bronze Body with []Bronze or [] Stainless Steel Trim
Valve shall be as manufactured Spence Engineering Co.,Inc. Figure # 41 or approved equal.
Install [] Drip Pan Elbow, [] Safety Vent Connector as close to valve discharge as possible to NOT allow any weight on valve body.
Drip Pan Elbow (if used) to be Spence Model 'DPE' cast iron body with FNPT of Flanged End as required by safety valve discharge. Sizes shall be as scheduled on drawings.
Safety Vent Connector (if used) to be American BOA Model 'FS-SRV-D' or approved equal. Sizes shall be as scheduled on drawings. Inlet flange to match outlet size of safety valve. Outlet Flange to match that of vent pipe.
Safety vent connector shall be designed with schedule 40 inner pipe liner, a multi-ply bellows of stainless steel and an external shell of schedule 40 pipe. Bellows to be externally pressurized to prevent squirm or column instability.
